Student Explainer Volunteers

This volunteer position is designed for ages 14-19.

• Summer Camp Helper - Assist with all aspects of summer camps. Help campers complete projects or supervise campers during breaks. Available during summer months only.
• Teen Explainer - Act as a Gallery Docent by presenting live animal programs, assist with special events or general assistance around the Museum.
• Birthday Party Assistant - Do you love interacting with kids? This volunteer position is for you. Assist the birthday party host with experiments, crafts and party organization.
• Imagination Station - Be a craft leader as you assist visitors during special craft times in the I-Station.

Adult Museum Volunteers

Bring ancient Indians to life, explain the wonders of a Tesla Coil, or help out around the office. Adult volunteers provide valuable volunteer support for the Museum. Adult volunteers are needed in the following areas:

• Gallery Docent - Get to know the Museum and help others learn too! Docents greet visitors, help with exhibits and give informal tours.
• Imagination Station - Be a craft leader as you assist visitors during special craft times in the I-Station.
• Admissions Assistant - Greet visitors, assist front desk staff and help visitors in the Explore Store.
• Special Education Event Host - Greet visitors, answer questions and assist educators with classes.
• Second Sunday Hosts - Greet visitors, assist staff in the Explore Store and help visitors with exhibits during Second Sunday, held the second Sunday of each month from 1-5 p.m. Perfect for church or civic groups who enjoy working together!
