Museum of Discovery Announces New Board Members

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Jan. 2, 2008) – The Museum of Discovery welcomes three new members to its Board of Directors and a new Chairman of the board.

Mr. Bob Childress of Moore Stephens Frost, was elected 2008 Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Museum of Discovery. Childress has served on the Board for eight years.

The Museum of Discovery is proud to welcome three new appointments to the Board of Directors. The new members were selected for their outstanding community involvement and leadership skills.

  • Ellen Gray, Executive Vice President and Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services, Stephens Inc, Little Rock.
  • Todd Newton, an attorney with Mitchell Williams Selig Gates & Woodyard, Little Rock
  • Jerry Vascocu, Central Arkansas Market President, Pulaski Bank, Little Rock

ABOUT THE MUSEUM

Founded in 1927, The Museum of Discovery is Little Rock’s oldest museum. It remains a fixture of the River Market District in Downtown Little Rock and welcomes visitors into a “world of discovery for all ages.”

The Museum’s mission is to ignite a passion for science, technology and math in a dynamic, interactive environment. The Museum of Discovery is a Smithsonian Affiliate, and a member of the American Association of Museums, the Association of Science and Technology Centers and the Association of Children’s Museums.

Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for children 1-12, $7.00 for seniors over 65 and free for children under one. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
