Test Your Knowledge at Museum of Discovery Upcoming Event

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 29, 2007) –Did the Vikings originate in Scandinavia? What U.S. State is named after a king of England. Test your knowledge at “Are you smarter than a ?th grader,” a game show style event for all ages, November 15-17.

This unique three-day special event will test participants knowledge of science, history, math and geography. Visitors can choose to participate as a team or can be part of the “viewing audience.” The game-show format will make the event educational and interactive. Questions will be age appropriate so the entire family can participate. “

Are you smarter than a ?th grader” game show times are: Thur., Nov. 15 & Fri., Nov. 16: 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:15 p.m. Sat., Nov. 17: 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.

Meredith Mitchell from KTHV Channel 11 will host the event on Thur. Nov. 15 for the 9:30 and 10:45 shows.

ABOUT THE MUSEUM

Founded in 1927, The Museum of Discovery is Little Rock’s oldest museum. It remains a fixture of the River Market District in Downtown Little Rock and welcomes visitors into a “world of discovery for all ages.” Throughout 2007, the Museum is proud to celebrate “80 Years of Discovery.” The year-long celebration will include special events and exhibits designed to showcase science, history and technology.

The Museum’s mission is to engage, enlighten and educate people of all ages through an interactive experience where science and history come alive. The Museum of Discovery is a Smithsonian Affiliate, and a member of the American Association of Museums, the Association of Science and Technology Centers and the Association of Children’s Museums.

Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for children 1-12, $7.00 for seniors over 65 and free for children under one. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
