Saturday Discoveries

Saturday Discoveries

Saturday Discoveries is a new program offered by the Museum and a great way to explore science through hands-on activities and experiments. Saturday Discoveries is offered from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month, January – May and is perfect for grades K-6. A different science topic is covered each month, so attend one or attend them all!

Jan. 12, 2008: Dinomites
Learn about dinosaurs, how real fossils form, and create replicas of fossils.

Feb. 9, 2008: Science of Sweets
Experiment with the art of making candy, and learn the science behind how it forms, and why it tastes so good.

March 8, 2008: Brains and Veins
Students learn about their bodies and see a real human brain.

April 12, 2008: Science of Magic
Science of wizardry unfolds as children learn magic tricks in science and science tricks in magic.

May 10, 2008: Science of Makeup
Students learn the chemistry of oils, gels and lotions. Children mix their personalized beauty formulas from cosmetic bases.

The cost for each class is $15 per child and spaces are limited. Call Beth Nelsen, Reservationist, at (501) 396-7061 to make your Saturday Discoveries reservation.
